Avatar is one of those movies that you see in cinema in 3D and all you have to say is – wow. Stunning effects, rich and beautiful (although a bit color crazy) scenery and a story that works for most for the movie. It’s very much worth the hassle of going to the movies.
The trailer doesn’t do it justice, but maybe it will help you see it. (yes, I’m that psyched about it)
Thumbs up for the excellent and remarkably insightful review! 😛
You saw it in 3D in Ljubljana? You had to wear shutter glasses, right? How were they? Any headaches?
When hearing the name and buzz I thought it’s all about effect but now seeing the trailer it actually looks very interesting.
just btw.. Some sceness in trailer had some BSG look and feel (which is positive).. and when the blue guy saiys “and this, this is ***!” I thought he will say Sparta! 🙂
@Tomaž: I saw in the 3D with those glasses. No headache, the 3D looked great, nothing to complain about 🙂
@Z-lot: it’s not a review, it’s a push to go see it 🙂
I couldn’t agree more about the CGI and the sound effects in the movie, but the story is typical hollywood – unimaginative and predictable. But I’d still recommend the movie to every sci-fi fan.
If I understand you correctly (and practically everyone else on net), it’s a movie worth seeing for its…effects.
Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t feel like throwing 3 hours away if story itself is merely OK.
I’m not a big fan of movies, but this one seemed worth the 3 hours and the money. One of the rare ones.
